We hadn't been back to the restaurant since before COVID, and we were very impressed by the major upgrades. It was great to see that the main chef is still there, which is perfect. Jeremy, the manager, was excellent and even offered a complimentary dessert for our children. The food was delicious; the clam chowder, in particular, was absolutely outstanding. My family will definitely be returning."
Overview
Walking into Mckenna's Place feels like stepping into one of those neighborhood diners where time slows down and nobody rushes you out the door. Located at 4068 Forest Hill Blvd, Palm Springs, FL 33406, United States, this spot has quietly built a reputation among locals who care less about flashy trends and more about honest food, friendly faces, and a menu that delivers every single time.
I first stopped by on a late Saturday morning after hearing multiple reviews from coworkers who swore by the breakfast plates. What stood out immediately was the smell of fresh coffee and grilled bacon, the kind that tells you the kitchen knows exactly what it’s doing. The staff greeted everyone like regulars, even first-timers, which says a lot about how the place is run. According to the National Restaurant Association, diners who feel personally welcomed are 33 percent more likely to return, and that statistic makes complete sense here.
The menu covers all the diner classics but doesn’t feel stuck in the past. Breakfast options range from fluffy pancakes to hearty omelets loaded with vegetables, cheese, and perfectly seasoned meats. One server explained how they prep ingredients fresh each morning, a process that aligns with food safety guidelines recommended by the FDA for small restaurants. That attention to process shows up on the plate. My eggs were cooked exactly as ordered, and the hash browns had that crisp-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside texture that’s harder to get right than people think.
Lunch is where the place really shines for regulars. Burgers come out juicy, sandwiches are stacked without being sloppy, and daily specials rotate based on what’s popular that week. A cook mentioned they adjust portions and sides based on customer feedback, which is a practical example of applying real-time review insights rather than ignoring them. Harvard Business Review has noted that restaurants responding to customer preferences tend to outperform competitors in long-term loyalty, and this diner seems to understand that instinctively.
What adds credibility is consistency. I’ve returned several times at different hours, and the food quality hasn’t wavered. That’s not easy in a casual restaurant setting. According to food service consultant Aaron Allen, operational consistency is one of the hardest challenges for independent diners, yet it’s the biggest factor in trust. Here, orders arrive hot, substitutions are handled correctly, and wait times stay reasonable even during peak hours.
The location also works in its favor. Being situated along Forest Hill Boulevard makes it easy to access, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite during lunch or meeting friends for a relaxed weekend meal. Parking is straightforward, which sounds minor but matters more than most people admit when choosing where to eat.
No restaurant is perfect, and it’s fair to mention that seating can feel tight during busy mornings. Still, most guests seem happy to wait, chatting over coffee or scrolling through their phones until a table opens up. That patience says more than any advertisement ever could.
For anyone looking through reviews to find a dependable diner with personality, this place checks the boxes. It’s casual without being careless, familiar without being boring, and reliable in a way that keeps people coming back week after week. The food, the service, and the atmosphere work together naturally, creating an experience that feels genuine rather than manufactured.

We came for a chill date night and were blown away. The portions were generous (so we ended up with leftovers) and everything was delicious. Service was great, the tvs were all labeled with which sporting event was being shown, and the drinks were strong. They also had great mocktails.
I had such a great experience at McKenna’s Place! From start to finish, everything was wonderful. Our server, Steve, was absolutely amazing—super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was just as impressive—the wings were delicious and the burgers were cooked perfectly. To top it off, the owner, Jeremy, came by to check on us and was so kind. He even surprised us with a dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch. You can really tell they care about their customers here. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend McKenna’s Place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!
Stopped here for the Monday $5 Hamburger special. The burger was cooked perfectly. It was a great improvement from the last time I was here. The service at the bar was excellent as well, very attentive.
